SAT Test Dates 2026–27

Dates can change, so confirm on College Board's dates and deadlines page before you register. College Board also lists anticipated 2027–28 dates, but it hadn't posted their registration deadlines when we checked in late September 2026.

• Juniors: take a first attempt in March or May 2027, when you've had most of the school year's math, and keep June or a fall 2027 date as a retake.
• Seniors applying this year: Nov. 7 and Dec. 5 are your remaining fall options. Many colleges publish the last test date they'll accept for each application round, so check that before you register rather than assuming.
• Everyone: leave at least 6 to 8 weeks between attempts. Scores take about two weeks to come back, and you need the rest of that time to fix what they show.

Registration costs $68, per College Board's fee schedule for tests through June 2027. Miss the regular deadline and you can still register until the late deadline, but add a $38 late fee. Other fees: changing your test center, $34; canceling your registration, $34; canceling late, $44.

• Borrowing a testing device from College Board? Register at least 30 days before test day.
• Sunday testing is available only to students who can't test on Saturday for religious reasons.
• Low-income 11th and 12th graders in the U.S. or U.S. territories can get a fee waiver, which covers two free SATs, unlimited score reports, and waived application fees at participating colleges. Request it at least 1–2 weeks before the registration deadline.

College Board says most weekend scores are released 2 to 4 weeks after test day. On the 2026–27 schedule above, students get scores about two weeks after each test, and schools and educators get them a few days later. You'll find them in your College Board account; eligible U.S. students can also see them in the BigFuture School app.

Your first 4 score reports to colleges are free if you order them within 9 days after the test. After that, each report costs $15.

SAT School Day: many schools and states give the SAT during the school day on their own schedule. Ask your counselor, because it can save you a weekend date.
